Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Mission Statement

Entertain the world. EQUALLY.

EAMC is committed to a conference that represents all races, ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, religions, ethnicities, and physical and mental abilities. We are passionate in the continual pursuit of equality for all and a greater representation of all groups within our community.

Definitions and Approach

Diversity is about who is represented - We are working to build a more diverse conference and industry, from the attendees to the speakers to the interns and mentees. We can do better and we will do better.

Equity refers to equality of opportunity - To become more diverse, we need to realize that we are behind and need to focus on the opportunies we offer underrepresented groups. We are focusing on outreach and mentorship to build toward the diversity we want to see.

Inclusion addresses what people experience - We are focusing on having a diverse group of speakers, presenters and panels at the conference. We want all groups to feel represented. As the conference becomes more diverse, we need to make sure those presenting reflect that diversity.

EAMC ANNOUNCES THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE IMPACT AWARD FOR 2021

LOS ANGELES, CA (October 13, 2020) -- The Event & Arena Marketing Conference (EAMC) is proud to announce that Paul Bee has been elected as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the newly formed EAMC committee. Bee, who is Vice President of Ticket Sales for the Milwaukee Bucks, will lead the not-for-profit organization’s Diversity and Inclusion committee, which focuses on the continual pursuit of equality for all, and a greater representation of the EAMC conference.

“For over 40 years, EAMC has dedicated its annual conference to the talented professionals that cross the scope of the live entertainment industry, and Paul Bee has been pivotal in providing great insight and knowledge for our conference,” said Dave Redelberger, EAMC President.  “Although we are unable to host an in-person conference, we are planning a series of virtual programming for EAMC @ Home that provides diverse and inclusive content.”

“I look forward to developing this committee and making EAMC a leader in our industry,” said Paul Bee.  “We are committed to making sustainable changes for the conference, and ultimately our industry.”

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee’s goal is to ‘Entertain the world. EQUALLY.’  EAMC is committed to a conference representing all races, ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, religions, ethnicities, and physical and mental abilities. EAMC is passionate about the continual pursuit of equality for all and a greater representation of all.  The committee will be responsible for three main areas, including increasing diversity among the EAMC community, creating an atmosphere of inclusion and equality for all, and advocacy for diversity, inclusion, and equality through its various efforts.

Additionally, EAMC is establishing The Impact Award in 2021 to recognize an individual who is making a change for good in their community or within the entertainment community regardless of whether it is through their employer or on a personal level. The Impact Award will recognize a professional in the live entertainment industry who has made a positive impact as a contributing member in their community in the past year. The committee will announce more details and accept submissions for the inaugural award next year.
